Speaking on receiving this award, Alan Grant, President and CEO, Canon India said, "Canon is honoured to receive this recognition for the work the company has done in its pursuit of business excellence in the ten years it has been present in India. Every year, many companies apply for this recognition and it is a rare occurrence for any company to achieve recognition in its first attempt. This award is an acknowledgement of Canon’s commitment to its consumers and partners, continuously delivering innovative technology to them, as well as delivering high quality services through the contribution of its people and the adoption of excellent business processes.
The award also recognises Canon India’s contribution to society and to its care for the environment. We are very pleased and proud to have achieved this recognition at our first attempt and to be one of the few companies to do so”.

GREEN PROCUREMENT
|
|
Guided by its corporate philosophy of "Kyosei," Canon has been carrying out activities to conserve the earth's environment, including green procurement. Our progressive efforts are based on the belief that green procurement is an important task of a corporation trying to fulfill its environmental responsibilities. To promote green procurement, Canon issued the "Global Canon Green Procurement Standards" and "Global Canon Green Procurement Guidebook" as early as in 1997. Since this time, we have regularly reviewed and revised our green procurement standards to reflect trends in society as well as developments in related regulations. Most recently we made revisions to our controlled chemical substances, which were issued as Version 5.0 in February 2008.
Since March 2006, the Green Procurement Standards have been divided into the "Parts and Materials" edition and the "Accessory Materials Procurement for Sales Activities" edition. Each part sets forth the basic principles of green procurement, standards, and evaluation.
Green Procurement Standards "Parts and Materials" Edition Version 5.1
Green Procurement Standards "Accessory Materials Procurement for Sales Activities" Edition Version 2.0
